POLICY ADOPTION, REVIEW & REVISION
All governance policies are adopted by formal Board action.
Annual Review
AI Edge Academy maintains a structured, annual review process to ensure all policies remain compliant, effective, and aligned with the School’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. Policies are reviewed:
- Annually by the Administration
- With Board of Directors approval
- With stakeholder feedback on selected sections when relevant to student experience, safety, or instructional quality
The annual cycle ensures policies remain current, transparent, and responsive to evolving needs.
MidYear Amendments
Policies may be revised or updated at any time during the school year if necessary to ensure safety, legal compliance, or operational effectiveness. Midyear policy amendments may occur when:
- Federal, state, or local laws change
- Safety concerns or emergent risks require immediate action
- Operational improvements or efficiency needs arise
- Accreditation bodies mandate updates
Families are notified in writing of any midyear policy changes.
Official Adoption
All governance and policy actions follow a formal approval process:
- Board of Directors formally adopts or amends governance-level policies
- Executive Director approves procedural or administrative updates within their operational authority
Once adopted, policies:
- Remain in effect until formally rescinded or replaced
- Are documented and archived in the School’s approved digital systems
- Are communicated to staff and, when applicable, families and stakeholders
Governance Oversight
All governance policies are adopted through formal Board action. When established, the Governance & Policy Committee may review existing policies, evaluate proposed changes, and recommend revisions to the full Board for approval.
Compliance and Alignment
Policies are:
- Reviewed at least annually
- Revised as necessary to maintain legal compliance
- Updated to ensure effectiveness and operational clarity
- Aligned with the School’s Mission, Vision, Values, and strategic priorities
