SEL Curriculum & Thrively Integration

The School uses Thrively as the core platform for SEL and strengths-based development.

All students complete:

  • Strengths Profile
  • Hope Gauge
  • Wellness Check
  • SEL reflections
  • Weekly Thrively routines
  • Annual portfolio demonstrations

SEL instruction includes:

  • Weekly mini-lessons
  • Daily routines (“What is strong with you today?”)
  • Mindfulness practices
  • Gratitude reflections
  • Student-led goal setting
  • Self-regulation strategies

SEL is delivered both online and in hybrid settings.

Counseling Support Services

The School offers limited virtual counseling services. These may include:

  • Short-term skill-building
  • SEL intervention
  • Conflict resolution
  • Wellness-check follow-ups
  • Crisis intervention and referrals

All clinical-level issues are addressed by licensed professionals.

Identifying Students in Distress

Staff are trained to monitor virtual indicators such as:

  • Concerning chat messages
  • Withdrawal or disengagement
  • Depressed affect on video
  • Declines in Hope Gauge scores
  • Sudden behavioral changes
  • Verbal or written disclosures

Staff must report concerns immediately to the SST.

Mental Health & Crisis Response

The School provides:

  • Virtual check-ins
  • Limited crisis support
  • Referral to external resources

Severe concerns trigger mandatory reporting.

Online crisis protocol is followed when a student:

  • Expresses self-harm
  • Sends concerning messages
  • Exhibits signs of emotional crisis
  • Displays safety risks

Staff must notify the Crisis Response Team, parents, and emergency services when required.

Mandatory Reporting Policy

All suspected abuse or neglect must be reported to child protection authorities immediately, regardless of whether it occurs online or in hybrid environments.
