HEALTH EMERGENCIES
Health Screening & Wellness Requirements (Hybrid Centers)
Students attending hybrid centers must:
- Be fever-free for 24 hours without medication
- Be free of contagious illness
- Stay home when symptomatic
- Follow posted health guidelines
Families must immediately report diagnoses of communicable illnesses including: flu, COVID-19, RSV, strep, and other communicable diseases.
Immunization Requirements (Hybrid Only)
Students participating in hybrid sessions must comply with state immunization laws. Parents/guardians must provide:
- Updated immunization record or
- Approved exemption documentation
Failure to comply may result in temporary exclusion from hybrid attendance until documentation is received.
Medication Administration
Only authorized staff may administer medication.
Requirements include: parent/guardian medication form, medication in original packaging, clear dosage instructions, and secure storage.
Staff may not administer unapproved medication under any circumstances.
Each dose must be documented.
First Aid, AED, and Medical Response (Hybrid)
Medical Emergency Procedure
Staff must:
- Stay with the injured/ill student
- Call 911 if needed
- Notify administration
- Contact parents/guardians
- Document the incident
- Preserve the scene when needed for investigation
AED Requirements (Where Required)
AED devices must be:
- Installed in accessible locations
- Inspected monthly
- Maintained per manufacturer guidelines
Staff receive AED training annually.
Injury & Illness Documentation
Hybrid personnel must document: injuries, accidents, illness reports, first aid provided, parent notifications, and any follow-up actions. Reports are stored in the School’s secure system.
Student Illness & Injury Procedures (Hybrid)
If a student becomes ill or injured:
- Staff notify parents/guardians
- Provide basic first aid
- Document the incident
- Isolate student if contagious
- Arrange pickup if necessary
Students must be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to hybrid programs.
