Hiring Process Requirements
All hiring decisions require:
- Verification of certification (if applicable)
- Background checks and fingerprinting
- Reference checks
- Review of digital skills and platform proficiency
Employment is contingent on successful screening results.
Virtual Interview Procedures
Virtual interviews must include:
- Secure video meeting links
- Structured, standardized interview questions
- Verification of candidate identity
- Digital submission of documents (resume, credentials, portfolios)
- Panel documentation for HR compliance
Virtual interviews hold the same validity as inperson interviews.
Reference Checks
Prior to hiring, the School must collect at least two documented professional references verifying:
- Employment history
- Professionalism and instructional ability
- Suitability for working with minors
No employee may start work until references are completed.
Background Checks & Fingerprinting
All staff—virtual or hybrid—must undergo:
- FBI background check
- State criminal background check
- Abuse registry checks (as applicable)
- Additional screenings for hybrid personnel
Orientation & Onboarding
All newly hired staff must complete online onboarding, including:
- School mission & philosophy
- FERPA & COPPA training
- Technology systems training
- Code of Conduct review
- Cybersecurity protocols
- Emergency procedures
- Mandatory Reporter training
Access to student data is granted only after onboarding completion.
HR Documentation
Employees must submit electronic HR documents, including:
- Tax forms
- Direct deposit authorization
- Employment agreements
- Confidentiality agreements
- Technology usage agreements
Incomplete documentation may delay employment start dates.
