LEADERSHIP TEAM STRUCTURE
AI Edge Academy is led by an Executive Director who provides operational leadership and is accountable to the Board of Directors. The Board maintains governance authority while refraining from involvement in daily school operations. All administrative roles operate under the guidance of the Executive Director and within the framework of the School’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
Executive Leadership
Executive Director Responsibilities
The Executive Director serves as the chief operational leader of AI Edge Academy and is responsible for:
- Overseeing daily operations and supervising all staff
- Ensuring strong financial controls and fiscal responsibility
- Managing student enrollment, retention, and growth
- Maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, voucher requirements, and accreditation standards
- Leading strategic planning, crisis management, organizational culture, and longterm development
- Reporting directly to the Board of Directors
- Ensuring the Board does not interfere with or assume operational responsibilities
Performance Evaluation
The Executive Director is evaluated annually by the Board of Directors based on:
- Academic outcomes and schoolwide performance data
- Financial health and operational stability
- Enrollment management and student retention
- Staff satisfaction, culture, and retention
- Family feedback and community relationships
- Compliance with all legal, fiscal, and regulatory requirements
- Overall effectiveness of school operations
School Administration
Administrative leadership includes the following roles, each with defined authority, reporting lines, and performance expectations:
- Principal / Head of School
- Director of Operations
- Director of Finance
- Director of Technology
- Director of Student Services
- Director of Virtual Learning (if applicable)
- Hybrid Center Coordinator(s)
- Enrollment & Communications Manager
These leaders work collaboratively to maintain instructional quality, student support, operational efficiency, and alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values.
Administrative DecisionMaking
All administrative decisions must:
- Support and advance student achievement
- Align with the School’s Mission and Vision
- Maintain safety, compliance, and legal integrity
- Be documented when appropriate for transparency and accountability
- Be datadriven, evidencebased, and educationally sound
- Meet all state, federal, and accreditation requirements
Faculty & Staff Governance
Shared Leadership Framework
To promote instructional excellence in both hybrid and online learning environments, AI Edge Academy utilizes a distributed leadership structure that may include:
- Grade-level leads
- Department leads
- Hybrid team leads
- Instructional coaches
- Technology champions
These roles provide peer leadership, support instructional quality, and help maintain consistent expectations across the school.
Teacher Leadership Council (Optional)
AI Edge Academy may establish a Teacher Leadership Council with the following characteristics:
- Meets monthly
- Provides structured feedback on curriculum, instruction, technology, professional development, and student support
- Serves as a communication bridge between faculty and administration
- Reports directly to school administration
Annual Review
The Mission, Vision, and Core Values—as well as the Leadership Structure—are reviewed annually by the Board of Directors to ensure alignment with the School’s goals, operational needs, and evolving educational requirements.
