RESTORATIVE PRACTICES
The School uses restorative practices to promote accountability, repair harm, rebuild relationships, and restore a safe learning environment. Restorative practices may be used alone or in combination with disciplinary actions, depending on the nature and severity of the behavior.
Restorative Conversations
Restorative conversations support students in:
- Reflecting on actions and choices
- Recognizing harm caused to others and the learning community
- Identifying strengths and skills needed for improvement
- Developing clear, positive next steps
Restorative Circles (Virtual or Hybrid)
Restorative circles may be used to:
- Address conflict and peer concerns
- Resolve misunderstandings and reduce harm
- Build empathy and shared responsibility
- Strengthen community and belonging
Repairing Harm Actions
Restorative responses may include:
- Apologies (verbal or written, as appropriate)
- Peer mediation
- Reflection assignments
- Community contribution tasks
- Re-engagement plans following conflict or removal from instruction
