THREAT ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES
The School responds promptly to threats to ensure student safety, restore a secure learning environment, and meet legal reporting obligations. Threat assessment procedures apply across hybrid centers and online environments.
Online Threats or Harassment Response
If a student makes or receives a concerning threat online, staff must:
- Screenshot or otherwise document the message/content
- Report immediately to administration/CRT
- Notify parents/guardians
- Contact law enforcement when a threat is credible or imminent
- Provide student support follow-up and implement appropriate disciplinary and safety measures
Intruder / Active Shooter / Violent Threat (Hybrid)
Hybrid centers follow a standardized emergency response protocol (e.g., ALICE or similar). Procedures include:
- Lockdown drills and staff training
- Emergency communication systems
- Coordination with local law enforcement
- Age-appropriate, trauma-sensitive drill practices
Bomb Threat Procedures (Hybrid)
In the event of a bomb threat, staff must:
- Contact emergency services immediately
- Evacuate if instructed by law enforcement
- Follow all law enforcement directives
- Document the incident
- Notify parents/guardians and School administration
Threats may lead to a criminal investigation.
Cybersecurity or Digital Safety Incident
For suspected cybersecurity breaches or attempts to hack systems, the CRT will include the Technology Director (as applicable) and implement containment, documentation, communication, and restoration protocols consistent with School procedures and insurance requirements.
