CLUB SUPERVISION STANDARDS
Club Advisor Responsibilities
Every club must have a designated advisor responsible for:
- Planning sessions
- Supervising students
- Maintaining attendance
- Ensuring safety and online conduct compliance
- Tracking student progress
- Reporting concerns to administration
Training Requirements
Club advisors must complete:
- Online safety training
- CPR/First Aid (hybrid programs)
- Background checks
- Mandatory reporter training
- Digital citizenship supervision modules
- Thrively integration training
Volunteer Requirements
Volunteers must:
- Complete background checks
- Sign confidentiality agreements
- Receive orientation
- Follow all conduct expectations
- Be supervised by staff at all times
Safety Policies
Online Safety Rules:
- Use only approved digital tools
- Disable private chat unless monitored
- Require sign-in with student accounts
- Supervise breakout rooms
- End sessions promptly
- Report misconduct immediately
Hybrid Safety Rules:
Clubs must follow all Health & Safety, Crisis Management, and Emergency protocols, including:
- Check-in/check-out
- Safety ratios
- Emergency preparedness
- Equipment safety (robotics, lab materials, etc.)
- First aid procedures
Off-Site Liability Requirements:
- Signed permission slips
- Appropriate chaperone ratios
- Emergency contact access
- Student location tracking
- Venue safety verification
Parents provide transportation unless otherwise stated.
